Have a candlelit dinner to celebrate the Presentation of the Lord, “Candlemas“. Thursday 2 February.
Check to see if your parish has blessed candles to take home.
Sing the national anthem and pray for New Zealand on Waitangi Day 6 February, 1840.
Pray for the church in Japan in honour of St Paul Miki and Companions Tuesday 7 February.
Tell your children about the “holy twins”: St Scholastica, Virgin (Friday 10 February) and the tender love she had for her brother St Benedict. Ask them how they can help one another to become saints.
Sts Cyril, monk, and Methodius, Bishop (Tuesday 14 February) were brothers and apostles of the Slavs. They translated the Bible into Slavonic. Pray for Bible translation around the world.
Pray for Pope Francis on the feast day of the Chair of St Peter (Wednesday 22 February). Talk with your children about the Papal Flag.
Make Turkish Delight to celebrate St Polycarp, Martyr on his feast day Wednesday 23 February.
