Bishop Patrick Dunn and the Auckland Diocesan Administration Board announced today the appointment of a new Diocesan General Manager, Mr James van Schie.
James has spent the last 2½ years as Executive Officer for the New Zealand Catholic Bishops Conference in Wellington, and immediately prior to that was Director of Parish Support and Development for the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Some years earlier, he had managed a range of key organisational and communications projects associated with World Youth Day in Sydney in 2008, and prior to that worked for Macquarie Bank. He will move to Auckland with his young family to take up the appointment in March next year.
Bishop Dunn said that James will bring to the diocese a good mix of business and management skills, along with a strong sense of mission and personal commitment to the work of the Church.
