Earlier this year Michael Pervan, from the Studio of John the Baptist, visited the archive to view the collection of Roman missals that cover six centuries. He took photos of the art used to illustrate the volumes.
When I visited a few months later he proudly showed me a drawing inspired by the 1668 missal.
Michael used Indian ink on paper, drawing lines to mimic the work of an engraver. Here is the original page from the Missal.
