The St Columba Centre in the heart of Ponsonby, Auckland, is an ideal venue for conferences, seminars, meetings, workshops or launches. With extensive parking, it offers five versatile rooms, AV equipment and internet access. This beautifully restored historic building was built in 1913 as a school and served as a temporary emergency hospital during the First World War before returning to its original role as a school. It was restored and opened in 2000 by Bishop Patrick Dunn as a high quality meeting centre.
Mary MacKillop Centre
Mary MacKillop Centre is a place of peace and tranquillity where Mary MacKillop’s charism is spread through hospitality, education and contemplation. It is a ministry of the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart. The sisters wish to share the beauty and quiet of the environment of their grounds and sea views by offering hospitality and spirituality to individuals and groups who wish to make a retreat, receive spiritual direction, attend reflection days and meet as a group for conferences, courses, meetings and other gatherings.
Mercy Spirituality Centre
Mercy Spirituality Centre is situated in the heart of Auckland and is a ministry of the Sisters of Mercy, offering a city oasis for learning, prayer and reflection. Meeting rooms are available for conference, seminar and workshops in a convenient location with easy access to and from the airport and city motorways, in a peaceful garden setting with places to wander, sit and reflect.
The Centre offers cosy accommodation at moderate prices with delicious food prepared in-house, using home-grown ingredients as available. Visitors are invited to join community members for prayer and weekly meditation in the chapel, and daily Mass is celebrated in the parish church next door.
There is access to personal, spiritual direction, and regular one to six day personal and guided retreat opportunities are offered. Also a fascinating, annual programme of talks, workshops, themed and seasonal presentations offered by highly respected local and international presenters in the environment that highlights sustainable practices and the use of native plantings in a city setting in this Mercy-centred environment.

St Francis Retreat Centre
The St Francis Retreat Centre is a ministry of the Order of Friars Minor, Franciscan brothers and priests following in the footsteps of St Francis of Assisi. It is situated in three hectares of park-like surroundings, twenty minutes from Auckland International Airport. It provides opportunities for retreats, prayer days, seminars, workshops, places for quiet reflection and conferences for Church and other non-Church organisations.
The Centre can sleep up to 40 people and while the accommodation is simple it is comfortable and clean. They provide excellent, home-cooked meals and can cater for many diets. The surrounding grounds provide a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere for guests.
The Centre is staffed by Franciscan friars and dedicated lay people who carry on the Franciscan spirit of hospitality and peace.
Tyburn Monastery was brought to New Zealand in October 1996, by six sisters of the English Congregation of the Adorers of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Monmartre OSB. The monastery church was dedicated in November 1997 and by March the following year the monastery building was completed.
The new guest wing with twelve room was blessed on 18 October 1998. Set in the beautiful Bombay Hills south of Auckland, the monastery is an ideal situation for people wishing to make a private retreat or go for days of recollection.
The enclosed community of sisters is dedicated to divine worship through the liturgy and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying for the Holy Father, the Church and for all nations and peoples. The overflow of the community’s life of prayer is shared with others on works on monastic hospitality.
