Before the New Zealand bishops went to their Ad Limina visit to the Holy Father in 2019 I made a personal pilgrimage to Lyon and, in particular, to the places of significance for the Catholic Church in Aotearoa New Zealand. At that time a number of people asked me when I was going to lead a pilgrimage to Lyon.

With 2025 being a Jubilee year now is the time! I invite pilgrims to join me on a pilgrimage from Lyon to Rome as we celebrate Jubilee 2025. On the way we will meet pilgrims of the past, who we now know as saints, but were nonetheless pilgrims of the past who have influenced our local and the universal Church and who will inspire us in hope as journey to Holy Door in St Pater’s Basilica in Rome.
