Pope Francis says….
“Every baptised person is a missionary to the extent that he or she has encountered the love of God in Christ Jesus: We no longer say that we are ‘disciples’ and ‘missionaries’ but rather that we are always ‘missionary disciples’” (No. 120).
This means that as baptised people and part of the Body of Christ it is our responsibility to continue to learn about our faith, continue to grow in our relationship with Jesus, and continue to take Jesus to others. We do this through prayer, through learning and through self renewal. Becoming a missionary Disciple is a journey, not a state that you become. We keep growing in faith becoming formed to Christ with each day that passes
Here are some options available to set you off on the journey
Prayer through the Scriptures
Parish transformation occurs when we as Missionary Disciples in parish community engage together because our our relationship with Jesus calls us to use our gifts for the bringing of parish life to others, by engaging in outward looking parish ministries. Ministries include all areas of service in the Mass, areas of service in the outer community, hospitality in the parish and worship.
Our role in the Diocese is to form, train and support all parishioners in these ministries so that all who are able can help the make a dynamic and vibrant parish for all who come through its doors.

Life Long and Ongoing
The Faith Formation Team of the Catholic Diocese of Auckland works with parishes to provide adult faith formation that is engaging, relevant and fits contemporary learning situations.
We are happy to coordinate faith formation by either providing a facilitator from our own team or finding others.
The range of topics for study are as broad as the beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church. If you have interest in a particular theme we will provide assistance for learning.
Experience informs us that sessions of 60 to 90 minutes are manageable for busy people and sessions can be arranged to suit availability around busy work and life schedules. With the advancement of videoconferencing and webinars, many are choosing to have learning sessions delivered in this form as this mode of contact and communication is extremely flexible in bringing people together around living and working situations.
The Faith Formation Team can also provide sessions on site, in your Church or Hall or invite you to Pompalier Centre where we have all of the facilities necessary to make an enjoyable evening or day.
