Over the weekend the Justice and Peace Commission held its first ‘Reshaped in the Spirit’ meeting which used the Synodal Church method of listening, discernment and participation prompted by prayer and the Holy Spirit to help guide intentions toward reshaping the Commission to reflect a more proactive, productive, and co-responsible future.
It was truly an ear, mouth, and heart-opening experience as each participant, guided by a well-known and experienced facilitator, contemplated questions on the Commission’s past, present and future, to discern and pray upon answers before giving responses. What was certain after the meeting was that the Spirit goes wherever the Spirit wills to go… and took us all on an enlightening, reaffirming and aspirational journey.
“Where to from here?” you might ask. As the idiom goes “If I win the lottery, I probably won’t tell you, but there will be signs.”
Keep an eye out for these “signs” as the Commission digests, absorbs and transforms itself into the Commission it is called and destined to be.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress…
So, watch for the signs….
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit. Jn 3:8
