Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Epsom is currently seeking a highly capable and motivated Parish Secretary for 25 – 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are seeking a talented person able to ensure the effective and efficient day to day running of our busy Parish office and to support the Parish Priest.
This is a varied role and responsibilities include:
- Secretarial services
- Office management
- Parish database management
Applicants should have relevant administration and basic accounting experience, excellent communication skills – both written and oral, proficient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, and MYOB accounting and payroll software (preferably) or similar. Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail are required for this role.

The Parish & Pastoral Services Group seeks an enthusiastic committed person to work as Executive Secretary of the Diocesan Justice and Peace Commission to promote, encourage and support justice and peace initiatives in the Diocese.
The Commission promotes understanding of Catholic social teaching and action for social justice. The Executive Secretary ensures the smooth functioning of the Commission, its eight Committees and Parish Social Justice Animators.
You will need excellent relational, writing and analytical skills; be committed to the ministry of the Catholic Church with an understanding of its teachings and structures; an understanding of the Bi-cultural commitment of the Diocese; have appreciation of the cultural diversity of the Diocese; an excellent communicator; willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
A Masters qualification in Theology is desirable, at a minimum a Bachelor of Theology or equivalent qualifications and credentials.
The position is full time, but there is some flexibility around this.
