Today we remember the first official Mass in New Zealand, at the Poynton family home in Totara Point.
All are welcome to the 186th Anniversary of the first mass in Aotearoa at Totara Point, Hokianga, 11am on the 14th January 2024

Wherever we are on this special day, may we remember with thanksgiving the sacrifices made by Bishop Pompallier and the early Marists, as they journeyed far from their homeland, to proclaim the good news. May we also remember in gratitude the lay faithful such as the Poyntons who kept the flame of faith alive before the clergy arrived.
